As a kid, probably Toy Story because I loved cowboys! As a BIGGER kid … I’d probably say The Incredibles!

What’s your favorite song?
Well, I have sung “Let it Go” more times in the dental office than I can count, so I guess that has to be at the top of the list. The real shocker is that I still don’t remember all the words!

NO CAPES! I learned that from The Incredibles. Trick question!

Doctor Jon Fryml

Pediatric Dental Specialist

Dr. Jonathan Fryml is a local boy; born and raised on the foothills of Paris Mountain! One of five siblings, there was never a dull moment around the house. Jon always had lots of energy. He was quick to laugh, quick to help, and in many ways, he is still that kid at heart! Learning did not come easily for him. There were struggles and challenges, but pushed on and overcame with the help of mentors such as his parents, teachers, and older friends. The kindness, love, and support that these people gave him was life-changing! This is a big reason why he chose to work with kids. He knows first-hand the difference someone can make in a child’s life and wants to be a difference maker.

Fast-forward a few years. Dr Jon graduated Summa Cum Laude with his bachelors of science in Pre-Dentistry, while still being able to be very active in his community—volunteering weekly at both Greenville Memorial Hospital and children’s programs around Greenville. Then, just like that, he was off to complete his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in Charleston at the Medical University of South Carolina!

Jon stretched himself when elected to be the president of the school’s governing student organization (the American Student Dental Association), as well as president of the American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Dentistry, an organization devoted to supporting patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities. He received the Dental Lifeline Network Outstanding Student Award upon graduation.

Dr. Jon has had the privilege of serving local communities in Ecuador, Peru, Honduras, and South Africa.

“What amazing opportunities to love people from different cultures and walks of life! There is something amazing about using your skills to help others in need.”

So what made Dr. Jon decide to do two extra years of training to be a pediatric specialist? In all his volunteer/mission work with children throughout his life, he always knew he was destined to bring healing, and to be a difference maker for kids and young adults.

The second phase of his dental education brought him to Dallas, Texas, where he was accepted into an amazing two-year pediatric dental residency serving at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas, Texas Scottish Rite Hospital, and Texas A&M College of Dentistry. He received extensive specialty training including behavior management, child growth and development, dental trauma management, pediatric sedation/anesthesia, and caring for children with significant dental and special health care needs.

Dr. Jon is excited to be back in his hometown, where he can have the chance to impact the communities in which he grew up! He and his team are so excited to meet you and your family and build a relationship that will last a lifetime.
